December 7th: Light Up DWNTWN Spread the Christmas cheer with galleries, restaurants, retailers, and neighbors throughout DWNTWN during December’s First Thursday. Community Tree Lighting (6pm) with Animated Light Show Synchronized to Music Santa & The Kiddie Express Train at Canan Commons. Holiday Gift Market by the Muncie Makers Market, Holiday Gallery Walk, Live Music & Performances Starting at 5pm at Canan Commons: The Harmony Players, Muncie Community Elementary School Choir, Code Red Dancers, George Wolfe and Friends, and Greg Rhodes. Santa, Charlie Cardinal, Rudy the RoadRunner, Rudolph and Frosty will all be on hand for holiday cheer and selfies!
Each weekend in December: Meridian Health Services and presenting sponsor, American Electric Power Foundation, is pleased to invite the community to Holidays at Gresham, a FREE drive-thru light exhibit with over one million lights on display! These holiday spirit-filled weekends are Meridian’s gift to the community. Beginning the first weekend in December, the Suzanne Gresham Center – located at 3620 W. White River Boulevard, Muncie – will host as many cars full of families as it can allow from 6–9 pm each weekend through December 26. December 9th: Veteran’s Coffee Club from 9-11am at Anderson Impact Center at 630 Nichol Avenue. Veterans sharing experiences with other Veterans with common experiences. Free coffee and donuts. Free food from the Pantry next door.
December 9th: Selma Holiday Market & Craft Fair at the Elementary School from 9am-2pm. 30+ vendors, visits with Santa, raffles, toy drive, and more. Free admission.
December 9th: The JJDC Christmas at Cammack Station on west Jackson street in Muncie is Saturday from 3-7pm. There will be a Jeep show, cookies, a 50/50 drawing, and a visit from Santa. Entry fee for the Jeep show is just $10 and a new, unwrapped toy. There will be awards for best old gen, best new gen, best lights, and best Christmas décor. All proceeds go to Muncie Firefighters’ Toys for Tots.
December 10th: Gaston Christmas Parade at 5:30pm. Lineup at the old Gaston gym at 5pm. Following the parade, stop and see Santa at the Barking Cow.
December 14th-16th: Start a family tradition and attend The Children’s Nutcracker at 7pm, a fairy tale ballet in two acts, with dancing mice, toy soldiers, dolls, and the Sugar Plum Fairy. The perfect length for our younger audience. The Children’s Nutcracker Tickets $10 ages 5 and up. Donations accepted for children under 5. December 15th: A Prairie Creek Christmas from 5-7pm. – Meet Santa and take pictures. Hot chocolate and cookies. Games and prizes. Hear the ‘Night before Christmas’ read by Santa.
December 16th: Rehoboth Church will host their annual live Nativity on Sat., Dec. 16th at Monroe Central Elementary from 4-8:00 PM. It is front of the school in the parking lot. The school is on highway 32 East of Muncie between Parker City and Farmland .There is walk up or drive by viewing. We will have live animals and free candy canes for all visitors. This is a tradition in our community since 1967. It was started by mother’s of Parker Elementary that year. So this is the 56 year.
